Monument – Humayun’s Tomb

This picture depicts cenotaphs in Humayun’s Tomb, Delhi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Humayan, the second emperor of the Mughal Empire,  is buried far under the ground of his cenotaph (empty tomb).  Commissioned by his good ole wife a fair few years after his death, he’s not the only guy buried here.  Indeed, there are a fair few Mughal family members to be found in the first of its kind garden mausoleum.

Architect: Mirak Mirza Ghiyath.
