‘Cheep cheep’ said the cheeping chicks, ‘quack quack’ said the quacking ducklings. ‘For sale,’ said the Vietnamese lady in a small village along the Mekong Delta – but in Vietnamese.
On a boat trip on the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, we stopped off in a small village and on the high street was this lady selling chicks.
They were pretty cheap, and it was difficult to resist buying a few (why would you just buy one?). Not sure what customs would say.
Offered in various shades of yellow, plain or stripey, it’s possible all aesthetic tastes could be catered for.
And of course, quack quack, some ducklings.
Please note: I may have labelled some of these pictures incorrectly – I’m looking at the beaks.
