After a very cold night’s sleep in the only-hot-in-the-day desert near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, India,  it was time to round up the camels for the new day’s trek.

The camel herder rode with no blanket or pillow for protection (unlike us spoilt overnight trippers who had plenty), gathering up the camels who were free to roam during the night and by the am were in pastures (or deserts) new.

  1. We did this too, and I was so surprised (and happy) that they just let the camels roam free in the night. Most surprised that they were anywhere close to walking distance for round-up in the morning! 😉

    1. Ha ha, yes, waking up and not seeing a camel around you expect to be walking!

  2. I went there first time early this year. Did not like jaisalmer much. I enjoyed jodhpur more assuming you would have been there as thats on the way.. Specially the palace on top.. You can see the entire city 🙂
