Monday’s Monkeys #7
And now it’s time to welcome the High Wire Monkey Gang – not for the faint hearted, these tough beasts spend their time scaling the wires of narrow passageways in New Delhi, India.
This opportunist city gang perches above the streets, waiting to pounce upon the unsuspecting humans passing by with food.
All are involved in the takeover of the alley, from adults to their young.
This one’s got some balls – and incredible balancing skills.
Whereas this mighty beast below (the leader of the gang), growls and stares at passer-bys. You don’t wanna be messing with him.
In between waiting for food, the gang like to entertain each other doing acrobatics on the wire (the one below reminds me of The Grinch for some reason – but I wouldn’t dare say that to his face).
Or they might have a little scratch to pass the time.
And then there are those that clearly don’t pull their weight in the gang, just chillin’.
So if you find yourselves walking around the back alleyways of central Delhi, don’t forget to look up … especially if you’re carrying food.
